Meanwhile, my friend who is a doorman paid 11.5% federal on about $44,500 income.People don't know the difference between the "brackets" and "effective tax rate". He looked at his income and saw 25% bracket and assumes that's what he's paying to the Treasury and thinks it unfair that someone who makes more is paying 20% "effective". |
