You mean Obama may have paid less taxes as a fraction of his income, vs. his "secretary"? The President of the United States is currently paid $400,000/yr., and during his time in office, as per the Constitution, he may not "receive any other emolument from the United states, or any of them". If, assuming he kept his net, Obama paid $160K in total taxes (about 40%), and his secretary paid a greater fraction of her income in taxes, then yes, Obama did pay less tax than her. But somehow, I seriously doubt his secretary's tax--$22,000--is more that 40% of what the WH pays her. |
