Because I flew to Montreal on Air Canada in 2006?It's actually a reference to the fact that flying to Montreal or any Canadian city in general is rather expensive when compared to the equivalent distance in the United States. A quick search leads to roughly $300 to $400 fares from New York to Montréal, while a similar flight to say Pittsburgh is in the $150 to $200 range. Yes, they're super quick flights, but I'm not earning enough to justify paying average costs for a flight up there, so I'll deal with the Thruway and the Northway and admire the view on the way up. |
