There is a solution for that. Responsibility. By that I mean any gun owner, concealed carry or not, is TOTALLY responsible and LIABLE for any incidence involving their gun. That means George Zimmerman is liable for the death of Trayvon Martin. (IIRC he is anyway) Liabilities for death run to the tens of millions. Got that kind of cash handy? You ready to pay?It's about time to get the insurance companies into another line of business.....All gun (any gun, particularly handguns, utilized outside of legal hunting seasons) owners must have liability insurance, or post bond or prove they can satisfy any lawsuit resulting from liability for their actions. You may have the right to own a gun, but that doesn't absolve anyone from the responsibility for what happens as a result. They put parents away when their kids kill friends and family when playing with the fookin thing as it was just left in or on a dresser, unlocked, unguarded, unsecured. Time to expand on that. It's time to enforce real responsibility control on gun owners. Pay up or turn it in. |
