I know people who have worked there, they're now coders for hire in the world of BSD. They go there full of hope, told that they can be rich working there. They can support their families who are destitute back in the farm country. And they arrive. In droves.

Once in though, they're held captive in the dormitories which work just like the old coal towns of the Appalachians. They're worked like prisoners. And they're not allowed to leave unless they get fired and kicked off the property. True, it's better than eating dirt but not all that much better.

Would it amuse you to know that many of the folks who work in those halls of assembly have never seen what they make finished and working, much less able to own one?
