Sukarno was not a communist, though he did have communist supporters.As others have pointed out, at the time Obama was in Indonesia, Sukarno was a disgraced former president who was under arrest. It's much more likely the picture was of Suharto, who most definitely cannot be called a communist. In fact, he killed tens of thousands of them. |
