Heh. Actually, my aversion to change does make for some "extra" money. While it's not techncally "extra", when it gets saved up like that, you do all of a sudden have 'extra" money when you cash it in. I have liked going to the bank with a large coffee can or two of change, and walking out with a couple hundred dollars in paper money. You are right, it is somewhere between $600-$1000 a year, as I usually get about $180-$200 each time I go, and it's once every 4 or so months.

And yes, it's "no interest", but in the bank you get less than 1%, sometmes .02%!, so it's not like much is lost on a few hundred dollars.
