As the flagship range-extended EV to land in the American market, it serves as a barometer for EV sales sustainability.Except that it's NOT in any way an electric car. 'Range Extended' only means it's a series hybrid. No electric car has a tail pipe. The Volt is just a Prius with an outrageous pricetag and shitty GM build quality. People aren't going to pay a premium for a car which you get to BOTH plug in AND take to the gas station every few weeks. If they want a barometer for EV sales then go to the Leaf, which Nissan can't keep in stock despite having range no better than the 'failed' EV1. Or, better yet, wait for a real electric car in the Tesla Model S. |
