A contemporary study would look at different Hispanic groups.Me too. That's why I mentioned Mexicans in particular in several posts. Either way you break it down, NYC is a city of immigrants where certain groups naturally pursue intellectual interests while others don't because it's not their culture. I can imagine the image of Italians in 1963. I'll bet less than half were graduating from high school. |
