Some people want to get away from NY winters. Others may want to get away from Long Island's oppressive property tax, heating oil and electric costs. The bottom line is that I can sell my home for $400,000 and buy a comparable home in Florida for $200,000 - while reducing my other costs by half, there is a real gain in the standard of living to be had. |
