That has a HUGE effect on widows and widowers who want to either retire to "Florida" (fill in a blank), or move in with their son/daughter, etc. Very bad, as $250,000 is not much in the NY metro area. That even expands it from people that bought their homes "in the 50's", to people that bought up to the 90's. |
