I don't know the specifics here, and I usually think PETA goes too far, but I do know that most animal shelters euthanize most of the animals they take. There are simply not enough adoptive families for all the strays and abandoned animals that find their way to shelters.PETA's Norfolk headquarters isn't an adoption shelter. They send adoptable animals to the SPCA shelter (and are not counted as "adopted"). The rest are unadoptable animals that have usually been rejected by other shelters. |
