You not aware that the Bundeswehr is just behind the US military in worldwide deployments? and that they were fighting aggressively in Afghanistan as well as many other missions before that? When they became our allies against the USSR!? Alas for thy naïveté. They were never our allies against the USSR; they instigated most of the trouble between us and the USSR after the war. Adenauer was quite pro-Soviet; it's a wonder he didn't try to merge West and East Germany under the Soviet bloc. Willy Brandt and his version of Ostpolitik too (which won him one of those much-tarnished Nobel Peace Prizes); he had to resign as chancellor because he got busted for having a Stasi agent on his team of aides—remember that? After that, he served a long term as president of the Socialist International (from '76 to '92) . . . and who can forget Helmut Kohl, with his big speech declaring that "the future will belong to the Germans, when we build the House of Europe"—the man who started the war in Yugoslavia back in 1991, even going against the USA? And of course, that's got nothing to do with the present-day Bundesrepublik, over 70 percent of whose population believe that Israel's engaged in a war of extermination against the Palestinians and half of whom have said that the IDF is like the SS. |
