The trouble with that is, the end of cheap oil is underway NOW...Cheap oil is gone. But medium-priced oil is not. In fact, the earth has more of it than is healthy for us to burn. Shale oil is not so hard to extract. It's being done extremely profitably in ND even when oil prices are at the low end of the range they've been over the past few years. The main problem is water availability in the west. But they've figured out how to reuse the water to a large degree. |
