Not to the extent that SMAZ attempted to dishonestly depict in those photos.Now if you really want to get technical - MTBE and other oxygenates may actually do more harm than good. They are known carcinogens and are banned in some places. On the other hand, the replacement, Ethanol or ETBE, blended with gasoline can actually be more harmful to the atmosphere especially when subject to evaporation. But we all know where ethanol comes from and we don't want to piss off the farmers - right? |
