As with more mundane fraud, my questions would include: "What did the person get from his lies? Political office? Preference for a job over someone else? A girl in bed? Stature among his barroom buddies?And with that in mind, what is an appropriate punishment. If it's the last of my examples, simply exposure is probably plenty. The disgrace and being laughed out of his circle of friends is probably sufficient. |
