IIRC, we weren't involved in a shooting war with the poor when Reagan made that hateful, injurious and completely inaccurate statement. Despite its inherent wrongness, we were at war at the time against Japan and the morals of the day permitted it.The nation has since made its apology and provided some reparations to those who were wrongfully interred. The poor have only seen their situation get worse since Reagan's time, with no apologies. We worked on making one wrong right, as best we can. How about doing something about the other? |
