I have read a bunch of articles on Lin and the ones from Asia are very open about race.

That's because P.C. is really an invention of outbred NW Europeans.

Other groups (Eastern Europeans, Asians, etc...) have no trouble calling it as it is...

They talk about Lin being yellow and how they identify with him more than they do with the black players.

Most people identify with their own "kind" (race in this case). Some are much more honest about this than others.

It makes perfect sense and while we all know that people better identify with people that look like them, you can't say such things here. And that they are comfortable using a color like "yellow" to identify themselves in an article seems odd as well. Can you imagine ESPN calling Lin "yellow" in a news story?
