So many of these people aren't moochers at all.Social security and medicare are by no means perfectly funded, but there is a lot of justification for saying that recipients have paid for much of their benefits with premiums paid. And veterans benefits are a pension just like any private pension. The pension promise is part of the compensation the vets received when they were soldiers. |
