The "bad" part of Huntington Station is a relatively small area (1 square mile, maybe) just south of the LIRR station (though a bit to the northwest as well). This area probably is about 70/25/5 Hispanic/Black/White.Otherwise it is a mix that runs from lower middle class neighborhoods to upper middle class neighborhoods and generally mixed ethnically. It is very difficult to get data on the area because most data is done by zip code. The zip code for Huntington Station (11746) also includes South Huntington (mainly middle and upper middle class and largely white) and Dix Hills (mainly upper middle class with some just plain wealthy thrown in and a mix of white, black, Asian and Indian). |
