Police believed Leonard Gilbert was probably confused, had no access to money and could have used half a tank of petrol after leaving Hartswood Road in Brentwood earlier. They described the matter as urgent and said Mr Gilbert could be at risk. Shortly after 14:00 GMT, police said Mr Gilbert had been found safe and well. Police said they were alerted when Mr Gilbert called in at a shop in north Kent. Brentwood is about 25 miles from the county border, via the Dartford crossing. |
