See Train Dude's post and my response to it.This is hardly fallacious, because the entire concept of crime in punishment depends, in large part, on our values, beyond the practical issues as the need for a deterrent and the need to keep criminals safely away from society. The question is whether some crimes are so heinous that only execution is a fitting punishment. I would argue that some crimes are, such as this one. |
