Sad thing is that it could make the grade. By using a weaker engine that does the gas mileage, along with a hybrid "assist" motor for acceleration and deceleration (dynamic braking) to compensate for the lower power, they'd run just fine and meet the requirements. Apparently Ford didn't want to bother owing to insufficient sales of their existing design. |
