Ford cars that have been popular with taxi fleets and police departments for decades.From what I heard, the old Chevy Caprice (1991-1996 models) were much more favored by police departments than the Crown Vics. In fact, in the mid 90's I recall a couple of police departments (one was Paramus, NJ) where the Crown Vics had some mechanical problem at high speeds, resulting in the injury of at least one officer. The poster r17-6599 is more of an authority on the subject, maybe he can clarify.... |
