Get upset at a Muslim symbol at ground zero would be like objecting to Chinese flag at Pearl Harbor because we were attacked by AsiansNOT the same thing. Japan did not represent "all Asians", OTOH Al-Quaida perpetrated the attacks in the name of its religion and has support among many in the hierarchy of that religion. Al-Quaida is not a single nation but it is supported by the leadership of several nations, particularly the religious leadership. Do you really expect the friends and families of those who were killed in the terrorist attacks to accept the symbol of those who perpetrated the attacks? I think it is expecting too much of them. |
