It's obvious that the Virgin Mary didn't reveal herself to me on a freaking pancake.However it really looked like her. Had the pancake been found at the reconstruction site, some dumbass would have said "LOOK!" and gotten comfort from it and people would have started praying around it like Neanderthals. same as some stupid beam that must be a "sign" from He Who Died For Our Sins. Sometimes a beam is just a beam and a pancake is just pancake. But those that run the PANYNJ decided to make it into an overtly sectarian symbol and turn that secular hallowed ground into a church. |
