The jury is only allowed to use information ON THE RECORD, presented to them in the trial. There are plenty of details that were "stricken" from the record, or said OUTSIDE the courtroom. The jurors are NOT allowed to use that information.Again, I do NOT agree with the verdict, but I also do see that the jury unfortunately had to do what they are instructed to do, and they did that. For people to be criticizing BECAUSE they did the right thing, and saying "they could do whatever they want", even though they DID the right thing as they are instructed to do, is beyond me. |
