I agree with him. It would be different if I had a kid, and my wife/girlfriend died, left, disappeared, and I was left with the kid. In that case it's my kid, and it would be my responsibility to raise it, so then there's no choice in the matter. However, for me to go out as a single and say I want to adopt a kid, I would not think that is right, nor what's best for the child. It's not like I am not a good father, or would do anything wrong, but it's not the ideal situation to bring a kid into without it's mother.
