YES they did trade "land for peace". Is that a great policy? YES they did defend it, held it, and had lots of settlers in it who didnt want to leave their homes,(Yamit for example does that ring a bell?)and in addition, the Sinai had oil in it and lots and i mean lots of other natural resourses in it to keep Isr. more independant. Under the pressure of the US it was given back. Do u think if Egy. had taken control of the southern half of Isr., would trade it back for peace?....I think not!!!! Could u imagine....the American Indian traded "land for peace" look what happened to them!!!!! What is the difference between Israel and how the US was created? Israel is only 50+ yrs old and the US 200+. Both have/had to be aggresive to exist in their situations. I am no advocate of war. I think it truely sux. Parents losing their children. But ya have to live in reality. As to "was is" and what "has to be". |
