I suspect only JohnL will understand this, but...With a Royal Wedding and the Death of Bin Laden, we've surely got enough good news now that ITN can finally reverse their 1982 decision to abandon their original theme music for being too light-hearted during the Falklands War. For everyone else, yes, ITN's news in Britain used to be top and tailed by the beginning and end of this wonderful piece of light music by John Malcolm — enjoy! And here's an instance of its being used on an actual news bulletin, showing how unfortunate it could be when they accompanied it with a clip of soldiers marching: Here are a couple more instances that look slightly silly: (1) (2). |
