Well ... wasn't field engineer on duty for that shoot, so can't say for sure what happened. I can only tell you that I've done the pool feed multiple times down there in the 80's and 90's and usually the delay was because CBS was late. Even in the 50's they were legendary for being fashionably late to the shoot. I remember an excellent clip by Everett Dirkson repeatedly asing "Is CBS here yet?" before starting his PC.But until proven otherwise, I'll attest to how difficult it is to get television out of that room and into the multi boxes on short notice. |
