Is that code for “I’m sorry I didn’t know”?You have claimed that James knows nothing about Vietnam, yet I would hazard that he knows a lot more about Vietnam than you know about Britain and its royal family. I discount that tabloid-pablum about Diana and, now, Kate. As James pointed out, Prince Andrew served in the Falklands. Many in the nation wrung their collective hands about whether he should be allowed to go there, but his personal view was that he was in charge of one of HM’s Royal Navy vessels and had a duty to be there. Similarly with Prince Harry. Earlier, during the Second World War, the late Queen Elizabeth, consort of King George VI, refused to leave Buckingham Palace, even though it had been bombed. She said "I'm glad we've been bombed. It makes me feel I can look the East End in the face." Princess Elizabeth, as the current Queen then was, was an ambulance driver. The British Royal Family has many problems, but I don’t think you will find that lack of a sense of duty amongst the primary members is one of them. |
