If they don't understand what they are doing, then yes they should deny it.Partaking in the Eucharistic is like a contract between you and Christ and that also includes Confession and is stepping stone towards more learning while working toward Confirmation. How is somebody with the mental development of a six month old child supposed to understand all this. I give credit to the priest for not making a mockery of these Sacraments by granting them to this child. |
