I have to disagree and side here with those who feel the parents should get the final say. I'm being consistent since I oppose religion and school prayer being instituted in the public school system and commonly use the argument that religion is for the parents to instill on the child, and not the school system. I realize that homosexuality isn't a religion, but the spirit of the argument is the same. Schools are for teaching young people how to learn and not to instill values other than civic ones. Hateful parents are going to teach hate to their children regardless of the school's curriculum and the bright side to that is that kids often rebel against their parents and their beliefs.your pal, Fred |
