Psychopathy and other anti-social personality traits are clearly heritable and while it is possible to attempt to deter psychopaths from murder and other heinous acts such as this (with the threat of imprisonment or execution), the trait is not going away and these acts will continue to happen. If you had to die, would you rather be shot or burned? Have you read The Origin of Species lately?
