John Jay is hardly a "liberal" school, much less a "radical militant liberal" school. When I was there in the early '80s, it was called "liberal" too, but several NYPD executives were on the faculty in spite of this. I recall Commissioners Codd and McGuire as hardliners, and Rudy Guiliani even taught a symposium there in my junior year. He was a big advocate of treating Mafiosi like terrorists, which he believed they were. Ditto CCNY, which to my knowledge, has always been right-of-center. |
