If you look at the average behavioral and physiological factors along the black -> white -> E. Asian continuum, you will find the averages of these factors increasing: IQ, age of first menstruation, while you will find these averages decreasing: physical size, muscularity, propensity towards violence, female breast and hip size (as discussed), penis size. Within any one race you will find a similar pattern as you move from low IQ -> high IQ. This is consistent with a spectrum that goes with different reproductive strategies, namely with is known as "r"-selection and "K"-selection.In the animal kingdom, different species use different strategies to reproduce: Shorter-lived and fast reproducing, like opossums, and longer-lived slow reproducing, like whales. r-selection depends on the reproductive rate (the "r" term in the differential equation that relates to reproduction), where as K-selection depends on the environment's carrying capacity (the "K" term in the equation). K-selected species live longer, invest more in offspring, and have fewer of them. It is basically the balancing act between quantity vs quality. Humans are firmly in the K-selected side of the spectrum, but apparently different genetic groups rely on K-selection more than others. Higher IQ groups, apparently having the benefit of the stability of civilization (relatively speaking), have relied more heavily on K-selection -- fewer children -- more heavy investment in each -- and delaying having them -- to take maximum advantage of the fruits of the environment. Lower IQ groups, not necessarily having a dependable environment, lean more the the r-side -- more children -- less investment in each -- having them sooner -- as a defense against chaos and upheaval, in the hope that in any event at least some will survive. In humans, this can be seen to this day -- lower IQ groups live in impoverished, far less dependable, and often dangerous environments where a K-strategy would be less rewarding over the long term. Basically, having a "means test" to as a requirement to have children (which is impossible in a free society) would be detrimental to blacks and all the lower-IQ segments of the population. Attempting to engineer a change to what is natural order of things might is bound to be foolhardy. |
