"The freighters are heavier and can thus hold less fuel"Excellent point - I actually missed that one. This is one reason the Airbus A380 Freighter is in trouble. The prototype A380 is flying, but it is overweight already and is not achieving the fuel efficiency or range Airbus promised (and this is before any payload is added). It's had multiple problems, including main gear that could not deploy from the wheel well. |
