Of the 229 years that the United States has existed, there were 50 states for only 46 of those years.Interestingly, however, that's the second longest there have been any given number of states: 50) 46 years 48) 47 years 24) 15 years 13) 15 years 38) 13 years 45) 11 years Which means, some time next year, the USA hasn't been growing for the longest period in its history. Quick, someone give AS, GU, and PR statehood! |
