The fact is BIE that I voted against Prop 74 because I thought that was anti-teacher and Arnold should have known better on that one. On 75, I voted yes because the teacher unions out here have gotten involved in a hell of a lot more issues than working conditions and wages. They have weighed in on same sex marriages, amnesty for illegals and many other far out and ridiculous ideas. I didn't want my money going for that when I was in the classroom and don't want it done now. As far as future pensions are concerned, if we don't get our financial house in order out here things will get to the point that we will be more like a banana republic than a golden state. We spend more than we make and that has to stop. Arnold tried to do it but those against it waged a brilliant campaign to fool the people and succeeded. The people will be the ones who will pay for it, though. |
