in this case extremists point to Egypt and Saudia Arabia and say "look here are oppressive governments sponsored and helped by the US"

So the solution to that is to hand over the keys of government to those very extremists? Will that make them like us?


Also Islamists have NOT played any role in the protests spreading through Egypt. This is a Youth uprising NOT an Islamist uprising.

If the government falls it will not be The Youth who will take over.
It will be the Muslim Brotherhood.
