Their biggest threat is simple geographic proximity to Europe and Israel. If Algeria gets going you're going to see France become a major player in NATO again, becasue the last thing they want is an angry Algeria. Arabia may fall, but in all honesty we can make up their oil output. What'll really happen is a giant Caliphate will now be in play from Casablanca to Tehran. And this time we might not even have the Turks onboard. (Oh, and don't forget the coming implosion of Pakistan!)The State Department must be eating antacids like they're skittles. |
