Generally, the unemployment rate is high for people with no skills. If you have skills (and I believe you do - I haven't closely followed your other threads) then your chances of getting a job are very good. However, if you live in Bronxville and work anywhere that is not either very close by or easily accessible from the rail line through Bronxville (i.e., in Manhattan or White Plains), you will probably need a car to get to work, or else have a VERY long commute on public transportation. And you may find that the job you get is on Long Island and have a very long drive to work. You can't judge the length of a driving commute by its distance. Also, rents in the entire NYC area may make what you are paying in Texas seem like peanuts. Rents are particularly high near most areas where the public transportation is excellent. |
