FALSE, New Hampshire and North Carolina became the last states to recognize MLK Day as a paid holiday by 2000.New Hampshire has observed it since 1991 (as Civil Rights Day). South Carolina was the last state to adopt the holiday in 2000, although some school districts in both Carolinas and Georgia didn't observe it this year. |
