People who buy old rundown buildings without fixing them kinda deserve their losses

Old doesn't mean "rundown". And who says they aren't "fixed"?
ANd even better, take away the incentive to INVEST in refurbishing housing stock. Yes, that's a great idea, make older buildings unattractive for investment.....depreciate their value so people can't sell them. Then the city can take them over and let the city wollow back into the 70's.

As to subsidies for low income people, that's socialism. That's what your party is working to destroy. So THEN what?

I am not the one saying there should be "subsidies", but if there are "subsidies", of which Rent Stabilization/Control is, it doesn't belong at the hands of private individuals.
