Rape and other aggressive unconstitutional measures are not the answer--and probably would do much more harm than good. But the anger being expressed here is natural. What they preach is reprehensible--as is, it needs to be said, the message of Nation of Islam. Sure both are protected by freedom of speech (and thought.) However neither are free from the consequences of their speech. People are going to get mad--and rightfully so. It's frightenning on many levels.There's nothing more dangerous than when an abberantly hateful ideology finds a way to be "hip". One fears it could become more "mainstream" as a result. I understand your rush to defend the likes of Tom DeLay. But not this trash. --Andrew |
