If it is understandable for you (and believe me, I do understand) that having a Mosque at Park 51 is wrong, then why are bigots and haters in Brooklyn bitching about a Mosque being built 10 miles away from Ground Zero. And there wasn't really that problem before this controversy. Unfortunately, by the total lack of understanding of the insensitivety of the Park Place mosque builders to even acknowledge the fact that this "could" bother people, and that obviously it does, and to at least understand that, it's become a "we are doing this whether you like it or not", and it instigated hate. If they were really trying to build a "bridge" as they claim, they have a strange way of showing it as instead they built a wall with barbed wire on top, and a moat around it. 2. With the large turnout (and a circus turnout) this past Saturday, how many of those people will honor the 2,500 dead from a well-planned 9/11 like attack many years ago . . .on 12/7/41? I don't understand the question. I don't see how anyone could call the amount of people still in distress about 911, and think that it would be a "circus" turnout. The people I know that lost people said that the pain got WORSE as the years go by, not better, especially as the small children of those kids get older. But yes, 30 years from now? A lot less will attend, as those directly effected will begin dying off, the same as 12/7/41. The people born afterwards, won't feel the same horror as those that lived through it, either there or on TV. But it will always be an important day there to reflect. And time does heal, even this. But the problem is, unlike Japan, we haven't moved on yet. First, it's too close, and second, we haven't overcome the war yet. We are still at war with these fanatics. This wound is still bleeding. Pearly Harbor is long healed, and only scarred. So I really don't understand the question. |
