The sign had nothing to do with it. As usual with Shrub, it was the stupid shit spewing from his mouth which got him in trouble. Statements like:
Major combat operations in Iraq have ended.

The Battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror

In the Battle of Afghanistan, we destroyed the Taliban, many terrorists, and the camps where they trained.
Were what gave people the idea the war was over. Yet somehow he managed to be off by only a few years and a few thousand dead soldiers. The best part was when the administration turned around and tried to blame their massive blunder on the servicemen and women on the Lincoln who put their lives on the line for his ill conceived and poorly executed war. We may not have fully extricated ourselves from all of our last president's failures, but at least it looks like we've finally got one step out the door.
