From personal observation from living there, I would say that it's a deadly mix of:smaller, less safe vehicles, high or non-existent speed limits (and lax enforcement of existing ones), a much higher percentage of motorcyclists/scooters compared to the US and in some countries a somewhat ho-hum attitude to drunken driving by law enforcement. Their large older cities are also a lot more dangerous to pedestrians than newer American cities. that's just off the top of my head. |
