In the case of Johnson, anybody who could get the Civil and Voting Rights Acts passed should be held in high esteem, Vietnam and Great Society notwithstanding.Eisenhower was only a "great president" because of the prosperity he inherited from FDR and Truman. The Korean War never ended, they just signed a cease-fire and then did nothing after that. |
